Projected Points
These three tables are only visible during racing and show you how the changes in positions on the water and rounding the waypoints are affecting the overall race position. An exciting insight into the twists, turns and tactical decisions of offshore ocean racing!
Confirmed Points
Points ratified by the race committee.
Leg Points
Predicted leg points for the current leg reflect the changing positions of the yachts on the water including any accumulated waypoints.
Waypoints
A running total of all of the waypoints scored as and when the yachts round the marks. If there is more than one waypoint per leg, the total will be cumulative.
Projected overall standings
Day by day, our calculation of the likely overall standings at the end of the current leg if the boats continue to sail to the best of their ability in the conditions of the day, taking into account any points collected at scoring gates up to that point in time. This is a guide only - anything could happen out there on the ocean and the Overall Standings table is the only true state of play.
Overall standings
Official overall positions and points, only posted when the Race Committee have dealt with all protests and handed out any penalties, should there be any.
Offshore racing points
Cumulative offshore racing points that have been ratified by the race committee. Follow this during the course of the whole race to find out who performs the best offshore; compare with the inshore points to see who is King of the Oceans and who rules round the buoys.
In Port racing points
Cumulative in port racing points that have been ratified by the race committee. Follow this during the course of the whole race to find out who is the best inshore racer; compare with the offshore points to see who is King of the Oceans and who rules round the buoys.
Fleet positions chart
Shows the position in the fleet (i.e. on the overall standings leaderboard) for each yacht at scoring gates, end of legs and in port races. This graph is updated at the end of each offshore and in port race. See who started poorly and rose to the dizzy heights of leading the Volvo Ocean Race.
