Here we go again. This morning we had a problem with the lashing in the R3 halyard, so our bowman Mike Pammenter/RSA had to go up the mast to solve it. It was not blowing hard, just a nice 25 knots breeze, but trying to use your hands 100 feet above sea level on top of a V70 in the middle of the Indian Ocean is not a task recommended for everyone.

The motion of the boat pushes the mast and the waves try to get rid of you as soon as you loose your grasp to perform your duty, and imagine what may happen. Yes, it happened that the DEMONIO heeled badly and Miguelito lost his control and swung around the mast a couple of times. Scary. But you have to know him; he is a legend of the seas!

Young as he is, he completed and fixed everything up there and got down as if nothing had ever happened. He had breakfast and went to sleep. Great Miguelito!! What a couple of bowmen does TELEFÓNICA NEGRO have in his crew: MIGUELITO PAMMENTER and JAIME ARBONES! Unbeatable!
